State Rep Report
Dear Friends,
We took a few days to visit friends and family on the East Coast during the month of July. It was wonderful to see our youngest son and his family faithfully serving the Lord in Summerville, South Carolina. We won't break out the home movies - just one picture at the bottom will tell the story! Right after we returned to Hayward, we were surprised by friends who once attended our first church in Curlew, Iowa (1974-1977). Warren and Pam Sutton have blessed our lives ever since we met them and we had not seen them for 27 years! It was good to spend some time together.
Please pray about a major event happening the 13th and 14th of August. Sunnyside Baptist in Fresno is hosting a seminar on Spanish Ministries. Baptist Church Planter missionaries from Phoenix will present ideas and offer assistance to Spanish pastors. Friday night, the 13th, will be a workshop and brainstorming session for pastors and Christian leaders, in English. On Saturday, the 14th at 1 PM, we will hold a training seminar in Spanish. Our ultimate goal is to encourage Spanish ministries through our Association and provide retreat and fellowship opportunities for Spanish speaking groups.If there is a Spanish work in your area, encourage the pastor to attend by coming with him! We do have six churches currently seeking a pastor: Westwood Baptist in Fresno, Bethel Baptist in Lancaster, First Baptist in Wilmington, LifePointe in Woodland, Grace Community Baptist in San Jose, and Campbell Baptist Church in Campbell.
Once again we want to express how much we appreciate your faithful support. We could not minister to the Association without a host of gracious, praying people standing behind us. God bless you!
